Autumn Haircare Tips for Beautiful Natural Hair

Autumn is my favorite season of the year.  The leaves begin to change colors and the temperature gets a little cooler.  Plus you get  to wear all your best fashions without being all sticky and sweaty. Lol. Anyway, as the fall begins to kick in, the truth about what we've done or failed to do to our hair during the summer begins to show up drastically.  The following are a tips that I think will be helpful for all you natural beauties.
  • Clarify your hair.  Over the summer, you've managed to use every type styling product imaginable to keep your beautiful tresses in place.  Now is a good time to clarify the hair to detox it from all those additives.  Start the new season with gorgeous, clean shiny hair.  Have your hair professionally clarified or invest in a salon quality clarifying shampoo.
  • The hot summer sun tends to dry out your hair.  With this in mind, the autumn season is a great time to start using natural oils as hot oil treatments to restore vitality, beauty, elasticity and moisture to your dry, moisture deprived hair.  Also, don't forget to deep condition. This is vital to the health of your hair and scalp.
  • Chlorine from pools, salt water, and harsh sun rays can reek havoc on your hair.  Start the new season off with a fresh trim to keep your hair in top shape.  Do not.  I repeat, do not take those scruffy split ends over into the new season.  Schedule an appointment with your stylist to have then removed, pronto.
Ladies and gentlemen, I hope that you find these few tips helpful with maintaining your beautiful natural hair in this upcoming autumn season.
